Although 2017 was a tough season for the Wombats’ men in first and second grade sides, both the women’s and colts teams contested the Blowes Cup finals and performed admirably.
Keith Fraser – who was thanked by many on the night -was named ‘Club Person of the Year’ for all his work and dedication getting things organised behind the scenes throughout the season.
Brett Cooper was inducted as a life member following his years of contribution to the club, not least of which as registrar and referee.
Zachary Grey was named the ‘Rookie of the Year’, strappers MJ and Tim received the club’s volunteer award, the Morse Family the supporters, and Rachael Tate the ‘Lady Wombat of the Year’.
The club will next be holding their annual Sevens tournament on Saturday, October 7.
