The 29th annual Bowdens Silver Mudgee Rugby Sevens will be held at Mudgee’s magnificent Glen Willow Stadium on Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Men and women will competing for a total of $12,000 in prize money.
Twenty-four teams will contest the men’s competition in what promises to be a highly competitive event.
Sides have entered from Sydney premier clubs, Newcastle and Country NSW.
And many – such as Deadwood Rugby and the Cornwallis Crusaders – are returning after being involved in previous years.
Four local teams will also be doing their best to take a share of prize money.
Eight women’s teams will be contesting their division.
With West Harbour bringing 2 teams, Sydney University bringing one possibly two teams, Waverley Women, Hunter Women, Manly Mermaids along with the local Mudgee Honey Badgers.
There is a lot of interest in Sevens Rugby following the success the sport had at the Rio Olympics, particularly with Australia winning the women’s gold medal.
The afternoon matches between the top sides are highly anticipated and some outstanding rugby is expected as they compete for the prized Oriental Cup.
The local tournament has grown to become one of Country NSW’s leading rugby events.
And is a popular end of season trip for a number of Rugby clubs from across the state.
The 2017 Bowdens Silver Mudgee Rugby Sevens kicks off at 9am on Saturday, October 7, and finals taking place from 2.30pm with presentations around 5pm.
