CWA Kandos Gardens Fair
The story of the Kandos Gardens Fair began in December 2009 when a group of local enthusiasts met to discuss how they could promote their town through its gardens. They agreed on two events, a Garden Awards competition and an Open Gardens. The first year’s event was a blooming success. Planning has begun for the fifth Kandos Gardens Fair, April 7 and 8. Local market stalls are welcome. If you would like to join in organising the gardens fair phone Colleen 6379 6902.

Men’s Shed Garage Sale
Among the flurry of cleaning, gardening, sweeping, mowing and activity Ray Hicks was putting the finishing touches to Kandos Kiwi thermometers, with a lick of varnish. October 21-22 is the big weekend for the Kandos Men’s Shed’s garage sale.
Rylstone Craft Group
All sorts of activities were under way at the Rylstone Craft Group, mostly knitting and fine needle work. The group’s number vary each Wednesday from four to over 12. The group works from 10am to 2pm or whenever it suits the members.
Rylstone Markets
The grounds of the Rylstone Memorial Hall were filled with tents, caravans and stalls last Saturday. On sale were fresh fruit and vegies, Rotary’s great bacon and egg rolls and more. The Rylstone Bush Fire Brigade gave advice and the whole crowd was entertained by local band, “Bush Rock”.
Batter Up!
The Rylstone Street Feast committee met on Sunday for a general meeting to discuss the use of a signed Michael Hussey cricket bat and stump, donated by Allan Hogan. Half of the money raised by the cricket bat and stump raffle will go to ‘Pink Up’, McGrath Breast Cancer Foundation. “Everything is coming along nicely and we’re grateful for the town support. We will have 380 diners,” president Ros Jeffreys said. The Street Feast is on October 28 and Rylstone will have stalls, food and activities for everyone.
