The rugby league club did not field a team this year after failing to get the numbers to enter the New Era Cup competition.
But members are keen to make amends next year.
At their annual general meeting last week at the Gardners Inn, there was strong support for the Cats to return in 2018.
President Wayne Morgan said the new captain-coach will be Matt Ranse, who has a season with Group 10 club Bathurst St Pat’s in 2017. Ranse’s assistant will be Steve Easter.
“With a number of players returning, the Cats are looking forward to a big year,” he said.
“The club would like to thank outgoing coach Jed Jervis for his five years at the club, making three grand finals and winning the premiership in 2015.”
The Cats are looking for a captain-coach or coach for the league tag girls’ team, which is a paid position.
Any new players are welcome to call Morgan on 0428 136 167.
