After winning the toss, the mountain men batted out their 50 overs for 7-195.
Brian O’Reilly and Lance Hearn each bowled 10 overs for Mudgee, taking 3-44 and 2-29 respectively.
Despite a 75-run effort from Donald Hearn, the Mudgee boys were all out for 178, shifting their attention to a Western Zone Plate semi-finals game at Narromine on November 26.
In the local first division competition, Paragon Tigers dismantled Lawson Park Country with a comprehensive 7-wicket win where it took them just eight overs to mow down the total of 48.
Brian O’Reilly and Adam Coughlan bowled brilliantly for Paragon, each collecting four wickets off eight and four overs respectively.
Al Barrett was strong in a losing side, making 15 for Lawson Park Country but it wasn’t enough to outscore Paragon as Hayden Cox helped them chase down the total inside eight overs, finishing with 26 not out.
In second division, Barbarians triumphed on the road, defeating Home Decor by 14 runs with the help of Chris Killeen (50) and Dave Edwards (48).
Also coming to Barbarians’ aid was Cooper Martin and Isaac Palambini who combined for four wickets through eight overs.
Despite being boosted by strong outings from Josh Brahbender (46) and Garry Page (40), Home Decor wasn’t able to chase down the sizable total of 195, pulling up 14 runs short.
