After crews ensured it was safe to do so, power was restored to all homes and businesses at 4.04pm.
Essential Energy thanked customers for their understanding.

“For the safety of the public and their property the electricity network automatically switched power off to 1,043 homes and businesses along Cope Road between Gulgong and Ulan, Frog Rock, Ulan, Wollar and surrounding areas at 2.09pm,” manager community relations northern David Crough said.
“Power was restored to 280 customers at 2.26pm, a further 64 at 2.31pm and another 183 at 2.40pm by rerouting the electricity network,” he said.
“Crews are working as quickly as possible to determine the cause of the unplanned power outage and then to restore power for customers.”
