The shearing was done by Mudgee’s only Licenced Traditional Barber, Jennie Rowe, at her Inglis St shop, who very generously donated her services. Jennie Rowe said, “As a barber, my clientele is obviously important to me and I was happy to donate my time to this important cause.”
Looking on was Doug Grigg , another Masonic Mo Bro, who had been shorn at an earlier date.
Between them Craig and Doug raised over $1300 towards Men’s Health and Prostate Cancer research through the Movember Foundation.
Craig said, “We had aimed high and we made our mark.”
Craig said that Men’s Health is an emphasis important focus for NSW Freemasonry and Lodge Edinburgh St John was active in supporting this and local community efforts.
“We have held sausage sizzles, raffles, along with the Parcel Pickup service at the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days to raise funds for Mens’ Health, youth causes and our community support this year, Mudgee Riding for the Disabled”, he said.
“This is only part of what we Masons have done for the community now and in the past,’ Craig said. “We work behind the scene in a number of causes. Masons in NSW were the first to extend aid to the 2004 tsunami victims and Lodge Edinburgh St John was one of the first contributors.”
“The Freemasons have also been very important in the development of Mudgee with many of them being Mayors and community and business leaders.
