Most animal lovers are guilty of taking photos of our pets and posting them to social media for all the world to see.

But now you have an opportunity to prove your four-legged canine is a superstar by taking them along to a ‘pawdition’, where they may just make it on stage with country music legend Melinda Schneider.

Melinda is returning to Dubbo with a new show titled ‘Melinda Does Doris… Again: A Tribute To Doris Day’ at the Dubbo RSL on Saturday, March 3, and she is on the search for a local four-legged friend to star with her for three minutes on stage while she sings a song.

“I wrote a song called “Your Eyes Could Never Lie” which I sing to the dog,” Ms Schneider told Fairfax Media.

The dogs must be obedient, professional, take direction well and be able to smile at the audience.

Melinda herself will be choosing the lucky dog who will accompany her on stage.

The winner will receive two complimentary tickets to the show and a packet of schmackos!

Ms Schneider previously had her own beloved dogs perform on stage with her, but since their passing, she decided to run the pawditions.

“It helps to involve me within the community.. and I am an animal lover,” she said.

“As was Doris Day.”

No previous stage experience is necessary, but ability to walk on stage, jump on a chair and be sung to, is essential.

If your pooch has what it takes to steal the show, send in a picture of your dog and in 25 words or less say why your doggie is perfect for the part to management@melindaschneider.com by Wednesday February, 21, 2018.
