The Mudgee resident recently won the Readers’ Favourite award in Miami for her book, ‘Colt Harper: Esteemed Vampire Cat’.

The book struck gold in the ‘young adult paranormal’ category and Puxty describes the piece as a ‘comedy’ with plenty of sarcasm.

“It’s my first book that hasn’t got one negative review,” Puxty said.

“Everyone who picked it up has absolutely loved it and I think that’s because the book is through the perspective of a villain which is really rare – it’s always the hero.

“I don’t follow that kind of arc. We get to see the world through his [the villian’s] eyes.”
