The nine-year-old recently auditioned for the prestigious school in Melbourne, which provides training opportunities for gifted interstate and international students through their interstate/international training program (ITP).
Students are selected via audition only and chosen if they demonstrate a natural facility and aptitude for the classical training offered at levels 1-3 of the school.
There are approximately 400 students across Australia and overseas involved in the Interstate/International Training Program.
Abbey has been dancing since three years of age but only started ballet in late 2015. Abbey dances at Dream Dance Academy in Mudgee with Miss Katie Fyfe and Miss Robyn Newton.
Both teachers are thrilled to hear of Abbey’s acceptance.
Abbey will attend a Sydney workshop as part of her training and hopes to visit Melbourne during the school holidays.
