The Sports Award (18 years and over) went to triathlete Soolan Clifford, who was unable to attend on the day because she was away competing. Last year she contested the Ironman world championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Despite tough heat completed the event in a time of 13:37:43hrs.
Alesha Bennetts claimed the Junior Sports Award (under 18 years) on the back of her standout performance at the Pacific School Games. She earned a bronze in the 200m sprint, a silver in the 100 and a gold in the 400m relay which was quick enough to go down as a NSW record. She was also in the silver medal winning touch football team.
