Construction commenced recently on the new 2.6 metre wide bridge across the Cudgegong River, alongside the existing Holyoake Bridge. And will provide a safer and faster alternative for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the river at Ulan Road. Council successfully secured NSW State Government grant funding for the project after community concerns were raised about suitability of the existing road bridge for pedestrians and cyclists.
Both bridges will be in operation for the Charity Shield match on February 24, however elderly spectators or those with prams are encouraged to use the new Holyoake Footbridge with pedestrian numbers to be strictly limited on the suspension bridge.
