in your cupboard
as cups on hooks
above the food
to be sipped when the mood
feels the tug of the spirit.
May my songs ignite
sweet epiphanies when skins touch
and sweat flies
when sheets are thrown asunder
and all but love is shut out,
curtained off,
excluded.

I Wonder
When I lay awake at night
And listen to the rain
Bouncing off the old tin roof
Or gurgling down the drain
I wonder –
When I look at sunny gardens
Filled with pretty flower
Or watch the birds who stop to bathe
In puddles after showers
I wonder –
After a storm is over
And the air is very still
I can contemplate a rainbow
As it arcs over a hill
I wonder –

The Ghost
A lingering spirit –
Caught between two worlds
Tragically taken before his time
though sadly –
not ready to depart this earth
He stays in his past –
his spiritual presence still bound there
He must remain –
with his work unfinished,
He needs closure
Caught in a time warp –
He hopes to penetrate the mind.
the mind of someone aware of his presence
Someone receptive –
who will see that his work is done.
For only then will he be free.
Free to move on
Forward –
In peace to the Spirit World.
