Mid-Western Regional Council and Local Land Services host the annual family fun day which allows the community to be involved in the care of the area by removing pests from Putta Bucca wetlands and Cudgegong River.
Introduced European Carp are the most abundant and dominant fish species in many locations in the Murray-Darling Basin. When feeding, European Carp uproot vegetation and stir-up sediment making the water turbid, or less clear.
This has a detrimental impact on the growth of native aquatic plants, the survival and breeding of native fish and other aquatic animals, and the general health of our rivers and wetlands.
Registration is free and can be made on the day.
The Men’s Shed will be providing a sausage sizzle and drinks from 11.30am.
Entrants over 18 years must have a fishing license and comply with the NSW fishing rules. Further details can be found at dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/recreational/licence-fee.
