“I wasn’t sure if it was going to work with my dark but oh yeah… it worked,” Kate Lynch said.
The sensations that come with shaving your head for cancer are normally good ones but Kate received a few remarks at work she thought were worth addressing.
“Someone told me I look like a man,” she said.
“That’s fine. I can handle that. But there are ladies who lose hair through no fault of their own and would be absolutely devastated by something like that.”
Now that it’s over with Margaret and Kate are looking to recruit a third person to their team and Kate’s son has already put his hand up.
“He’s keen to do it. Hopefully there will be three of us next year.”
Margaret’s appreciation for Kate’s action or well-known, but she told The Mudgee Guardian again how thankful she was.
“Kate’s a wonderful person and I’m so thankful for what she’s done,” she said.
Donations to Kate and Margaret’s charity will be open until June 30: https://secure.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?Referrer=%26Referrer%3ddirect%252fnone&RegistrationID=702831
