Last week, it was announced Mid-Western Regional Council will receive $1.722 million in grant funding through the program that was created to deliver local infrastructure projects.
To ensure funding is allocated to appropriate projects, Council is inviting the community to list their top five projects via an online survey.
For those residents with limited internet access, Council staff will be touring the region with the survey as part of a Community Engagement Roadshow.
The roadshow visited Mudgee this week and will be set up at the following locations from next week:
- Rylstone Foodworks 11am – 1pm Tuesday, March 27;
- Kandos IGA 1.30pm – 3pm Tuesday, March 27;
- Gulgong IGA 11am – 2pm Wednesday, March 28.
Mayor Des Kennedy said the priorities identified by residents will better inform Council when preparing applications for relevant projects in accordance with the project guidelines.
“This is the community’s chance to tell us which projects they most want completed,” Cr Kennedy said.
“That could be more shade at your local pools, bike and walking paths, more public art investment or sporting facility improvements.”
Community groups are able to nominate additional projects and must complete a separate application form. The forms are available on Council’s website. The survey closes on March 31.
