This year will see 12 students from Mudgee, Gulgong, and Kandos high schools, along with St Matthew's Catholic School, undertake the 22-week journey alongside 11 community coaches.
Max Potential is an annual leadership development program, which also includes giving back to the community via a community service project.
The volunteer coaches were ready to go, having already completed two days of professional coach training and were keen to meet their coachee at the first 2019 get-together.
While for the young adults it was time to get started their leadership journey underway and meet their very own coach.
"It's about the students meeting their coaches, some come in with a bit of knowledge of Max Potential from friends or siblings who may have done it, and some come in with none," Max Potential program manager, Damian Walsh, said.
"So we do a couple of activities to get them comfortable with the coaches and look at what they want to achieve and challenges they face."
The next time everyone will be back together again will be at the first Connect Group in April, where they will aim to move into the next phase of Max Potential.
Damian added that's where "we see the evidence of personal change, check in on their achievement of goals, and allow our relationships to have "honest" conversations to support growth and acceleration".
"The next session will be regrouping, looking at what they've done in the last month, and preparing their personal expression piece in the following Connect Group in May," he said.
"And we'll be talking about their community service project that they'll be starting in late April, which builds into their Showcase where they present what they've done in the program."
