The station held an open day to celebrate, inviting locals to come and take a tour behind the scenes and enjoy a sausage sizzle.
A number of old photos went on display, both in the studio and under a marquee, displaying the faces behind the voices and how the station has changed over the years.
One thing that was also evident was the number of times the land around the station became a lake with flooding which seemed to happen every couple of decades.
A reunion dinner of former staff was also held on Saturday night.
Last Tuesday (July 2) was the 75th anniversary of the station’s first broadcast, made in July 1938.
Today, 2MG has the latest in commercial production facilities, along with state of the art digital audio playback.
