Earlier this month Bunnamagoo began showcasing a selection of the finest pearl jewellery in the world alongside its range of five-star wines.
Bunnamagoo Estate wines are owned and produced by the Paspaley family, also known the world over for their exquisite Australian South Sea pearl jewellery.
General Manager at Bunnamagoo, Stuart Hughes, said he was excited by the prospect of showcasing fine wine and excellent jewellery.
“We suspect that this is a world first, bringing together the beauty of pearls with the elegance of our Mudgee wines. For us the marriage of Paspaley Australian South Sea pearls and our cool climate wines is a natural one, and one that we wanted to share with visitors to our vineyard, especially during wine month,” he said.
Bunnamagoo’s cellar door will boast a capsule collection of Paspaley Australian South Sea pearl jewellery including elegant pendants and earrings. Visitors can experience the Bunnamagoo range, including the 1827 special release series, whilst they view the collection.
Behind the beauty of Paspaley’s Australian South Sea pearls is a journey that began more than 75 years ago on the remote and unspoiled coastline of northern Australia.
The company’s involvement in pearling dates back to 1935 when Nicholas Paspaley Senior MBE, first collected mother-of-pearl shell in Australia’s northern waters. He established a family concern that has evolved to become the world’s leading South Sea pearling company.
Paspaley nurtures its pearls on a remote network of over 20 farms, stretching more than 2500 kilometres across the waters off the northwest coast of Australia - about the same distance as London to Moscow.
These standards have ensured Paspaley Australian South Sea pearls are much sought after by the world’s leading jewellery houses and has made the Paspaley name synonymous with the most beautiful pearls in the world.
Recently Bunnamagoo was also awarded a five-star rating in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2014, the book considered to be the nation’s wine industry benchmark.
