“Donations from local businesses were overwhelming and the enthusiastic bidding from those at the event will help Angel Flight continue its important work,” Gary Leonard from Mudgee Brewery said.
The night was a great start to Melbourne Cup festivities for more than 90 people who enjoyed the Calcutta draw.
The 23 starters were then sold off in a very spirited fun auction by Hugh Bateman and Bruce McGregor who also sold several lots of donated goods, raising more funds for Angel Flight.
Ian McMaster provided a great phantom call and had the jovial crowd cheering on their choice in the cup down the straight.
“It’s great to be part of such a fantastic community like Mudgee,” Mr Leonard said.
