The many requests over the years for a Harris Farm Markets store in Mudgee has prompted the family-run company to start weekly deliveries to the Mudgee area says, Harris Farm Markets CFO, Angus Harris.
“The family is really keen on seeing this work,” he said.
The new venture came about nearly 4 weeks ago when Angus Harris decided to do something about the requests from friends and residents of Mudgee, he and Harris Farms had been receiving.
With the first orders being delivered last Saturday, Mudgee locals will now be able to shop online for fresh fruit, vegetables and meat between Tuesday and Thursday and then collect their order from High Valley Wine and Cheese on Saturday morning.
The products available are all based on the same shop prices just with a smaller selection than in store, Mr Harris said.
“As a company we want to find out how we can service Mudgee,” Angus said.
Currently, Harris Farm will deliver to Mudgee once a week but they hope to increase the frequency of deliveries to Mudgee as demand increases as well as offer home deliveries should the number of people ordering online increase.
“We’re very happy with the intake so far and the number should continue to grow,” Mr Harris said.
At the moment there are no plans for a Mudgee store but Mr Harris said that might change as Mudgee and the surrounding region grows.
All orders placed before 5pm Thursday will be available for pick up on Saturday between 9am and 12pm from High Valley Wine & Cheese.
