
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was allegedly hit on the head with a pool cue at Mudgee.

About 9.45pm on Saturday, December 12, a 30-year-old man entered the pool room of a hotel in Church Street, Mudgee, when he was approached by another man known to him.
The two men had an argument before the second man picked up a pool cue and allegedly hit the 30-year-old over the head, causing him to fall to the ground.
Emergency services were contacted and officers from Mudgee Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation.
The injured man was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment of a laceration to his head, but was released early Sunday morning.
The second man had left the area before police arrived.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.
