This grant was donated by Glencore/Ulan Coal’s community investment program. The company is committed to investing in the development of communities in which they operate.
Organisations that make a positive contribution to the community in capacity building – including education, training, enterprise development and economic diversification, health or the environment can apply to the Community Investment Program.
Lifeskills Plus received the grant for the purchase of an “aqua bed”. This equipment allows staff to bathe clients who cannot use a conventional shower or bath, allow the clients to enjoy their bath comfortably.
Ulan Underground fitness for work co-ordinator Trudy Charnley visited Lifeskills Plus to present the delivery of the aqua bed on Thursday.
Ms Charnley was impressed with the progress Lifeskills Plus has made with their facility.
Fundraising for stage two of the development has already begun and will continue in the coming year.
