The event attracted over 300 players and more than 2000 spectators to the week-long event held at the Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre.
Five locals from the Gulgong Polocrosse Club were chosen to represent NSW with high hopes of bringing home glory; Tanya Mulligan: Masters mixed, Grace Halsted: Senior women, Chris Anderson: Senior Men, Clancy Knight: Intermediate men, Lachlan Burtenshaw: Intermediate Mixed Men.
An eventful three days of finals played out over Friday, Saturday and Sunday with amazing results for NSW.
The Senior Men, Senior Women’s and Senior Mixed divisions were all victorious in nail bitingly close games.
NSW dominated the finals also winning the under 12s, the under 16 boys and girls, the under 21 women’s division and the men’s and masters competitions.
A fantastic effort was made by all who played, especially our Gulgong members who displayed true talent over the past week.
A further congratulations goes to Lachlan Burtenshaw for winning ‘Best No 2’ in the talented U21s mixed competition. Gulgong will travel to Quirindi this coming weekend in what will be a tough competition against one of the top NSW clubs.
Quirindi will be looking for revenge after being defeated by Gulgong in the A Grade Men’s finals in Narrabri at a warm up carnival in April.
The annual Gulgong carnival will be held on May 21 and 22 at the polocrosse fields, spectators are invited to come along and support the club and enjoy a great family day out.
