The Mudgee Dragons annual general meeting was held last Wednesday night when the new committee was elected to take the club into the 2017 season.
Outgoing president, Rob O’Connor, said he didn’t stand for the position again “due to some long awaited travel plans we have been putting on hold”, however, “Denise and I will remain heavily involved in the club heading in to 2017”.
“Our club is in a very sound financial and structural position leading in to 2017 due to our hard working and dedicated sponsors and committee,” he said.
“Denise and I would like to personally thank you all for your interest and wonderful support for our club and young people over the past twelve months.
“We have enjoyed a tremendous ride this year and are extremely proud of the achievements of our club in 2016.”
On the next committee, which will be led by Premier League skipper Jared Robinson, O’Connor said, “I am sure you would agree this is a group of committed, hard workers who have the best interests of the club and our young people at heart”.
“We can look forward to another big year in 2017.”
Applications for coaching positions are currently open and can be submitted to P.O box 200.
The first big event for the Dragons in 2017 will be the Nines at Glen Willow on the weekend of February 25-26.
