Ori, Paragon, Kelly’s victories in Mudgee Division 2

Home Decor came within 14 runs of catching the 205 set by the Ori Bulls in their Round 7 match.

Opener Mick Mahon got the innings off to a good start when he top scored with 55 not out.

His partnership with first-drop Callan Double (31) got the runs flowing.

Andrew Whale’s 48 helped get the score close to 200 when he departed.

No less than 10 bowlers rolled the arm over for Decor, Marskell’s figures looked the most impressive with 4/1 cleaning up the tail, Dowell took 3/43.

Decor were bowled out for 191 in reply with handy knocks from Roach (50 ret), Marskell (60) and Nuttley (40 n.o).

Wicket takers were; Pierson Sibley (3/11); Mahon (2/22); Double (1/7); Burrow (1/9); Greg Lawson (1/26); Connor Whale (1/27).

Paragon Hotel backed up their day/night win last weekend by downing Carpet Court.

Batting first Paragon set a target of 163 for victory. Their top scorer was Luke Lunney – batting down at seven – with 38, sending it crashing to the boundary for four on seven occasions.

Adam O’Connell was deadly with the ball taking 3/9 – top order scalps as well – and bowling two maidens from his five overs.

Cody Lawson (2/34); Lachlan Rayner (1/21); Mitch Sandry (1/21); Josh Sandry (1/25).

Lawson made 56 opening the batting but not enough of his team mates followed his lead as they slumped to be all out for 128.

Lunney was handy with the ball as well taking 3/14 and a maiden, Crouch took 2/16, Gardiner’s 4/26 helped close the innings.

Kelly’s Irish Pub Barbarians were too good for Woolpack Hotel in their clash at Walkers 1.

The Barbarians’ best with the bat were Dan Akers (51 n.o) and Graham Unicomb (50 n.o), the two biggest contributors to the total of 179.

Rod Cooke scored 67 for Woolpack on their way to 172.

Barbarian’s wicket takers were; Carev (4/22); Colin Wright (2/8); Gordon Wright (2/37); Sutaria (1/11); Martin (1/17).
