Reading Cinemas has reversed a decision not to show La La Land at Dubbo, announcing it would show the Academy Award-nominated film from next Thursday.
Reading Cinemas Dubbo had previously said in response to several requests on its Facebook page that it would not be bringing the film to the city.
The Daily Liberal attempted to find out from Reading Dubbo and its head office in Melbourne why it had decided not to show the film, which has been nominated for 14 Academy Awards.
Reading did not respond but less than 24 hours after the story ran on the Daily Liberal website, Reading confirmed it would show twice a day from February 9 for at least seven days. It will be shown at 1.15pm and 6.15pm.
Reading confirmed the decision on its Facebook page and in a post to the Daily Liberal.
Orange’s Odeon 5 Cinemas is currently screening La La Land twice a day and Metro 5 in Bathurst is showing it three times a day.
