Scott Allen of Cameron Street, Mudgee, was charged with contravening an apprehended violence order (AVO) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm – both domestic violence charges – and failing to appear in accordance with bail conditions.
The incident occurred on the morning of July 29, 2016, when he assaulted a family member who collected his welfare benefit for him.
Which put him in breach of an AVO that had been in place since March 23.
He also failed to appear in court on August 17 and wasn’t complying with his reporting conditions which saw him refused bail since November 22.
Magistrate Terry Lucas told him, “you need to get your act together, you know what’s right and what’s wrong”.
“You said you didn’t like jail, just remember you’ve been in remand, you haven’t gone to big jail.”
