Following Mudgee Region Tourism’s win at the NSW Tourism Awards for best in Destination Marketing, Mike and the Sydney Weekender team visited a number of Mudgee gems including highlights from Mudgee Fine Food’s new Farm Gate Trail, a taste of the famous woodfired pizzas and wine tastings at Di Lusso Estate, a closer look at bee hives at Mudgee Honey and a walk through the flowering olive grove at Rylstone Olive Press.
In between filming, the Sydney Weekender cast and crew stayed at Horizon Mudgee.
Mudgee Region Tourism CEO, Cara George said it was a pleasure to have Mike Whitney and the Sydney Weekender crew visit Mudgee and local producers were thrilled to showcase award-winning food and wine coming out of the region.
Sydney Weekender’s special NSW Tourism Award winner’s episode airs on the Seven Network, 5.30pm – Sunday 19 February.
Mudgee Region Tourism heads to Darwin at the end of this month as Finalists in Destination Marketing at the Australian Tourism Awards.
