Less than two months after the Kains Flat bushfire, which burnt more than 6000 hectares under catastrophic conditions, the Cooyal RFS secretary, David Evans said, "we want to thank all of the businesses in Mudgee and the surrounds that assisted us with donations of food, drink and goods. Also the community for their support during the crisis that we had”.
“We had support coming from all over the place and had brigades that were from hundreds of kilometres away fighting the fires up here. It's a big effort from a lot of people.”
