The visitors were strong across the park in the top grade clash, keeping the Wombats back-pedalling all game.
Second grade were coming home with a wet sail in an improved performance but ran out of time to fall five points short.
Colts were set to notch up another victory – their third straight - but the game was marred by a serious leg injury to one of the players.
As he couldn’t be removed from the field until the ambulance arrived, the game was eventually abandoned with the Wombats in front 12-7.
This weekend the club’s senior sides are on the road to take on Cowra.
The junior Wombats continue to turn in strong results.
Both the 13s teams won their matches, with the Reds defeating Wellington 33 – 14 and the Blues with with a large margin over Parkes.
Both games were played in Mudgee.
While the 15s had a good away win over the combined Narromine/Parkes team 27 to 19.
