The Festival is one of New South Wales’ longest running wine and food festivals and will feature a diverse range of events including live music, tastings, lunches, dinners and tours.
While there is a number of signature events of the Festival each participating winery is offering their own unique experience. This ranges from food and wine pairing, special tastings, platters and tasting flights.
The signature events this year comprise:
Mudgee Wine Show Dinner (September 15)
Guests can join the Mudgee winemakers for a locally inspired dinner prepared by ‘hatted’ chef, Kim Currie, at the new Craigmoor Pavilion. Trophy winning wines will be announced on the night and matched alongside each course.
Go Grazing (September 9)
A fresh and exciting take on pairing Mudgee’s wines with a beautifully prepared local dish. Explore a number of Mudgee’s best wineries and enjoy their wine matched with savoury or sweet ‘bites’. With live music and a friendly atmosphere, this is a perfect way to discover Mudgee.
Go Tasting (September 16)
This is the public tasting of the wines of the Mudgee Wine Show. Guests can choose from over 100 of the best wines of Mudgee and compare their notes to those of the Wine Show judges. Guests will also have the opportunity to take home a six-pack of Mudgee’s best wine at special ‘Go Tasting’ prices.
Flavours of Mudgee (September 23)
Held in the heart of Mudgee’s CBD, ‘Flavours of Mudgee’ brings the town alive with this street festival. All of the region’s winegrowers, producers, bakers, cooks, distillers and brewers join together offering tastings and meals with a backdrop of Mudgee’s historic buildings and famous Clock Tower.
Wednesday Night Wine (September 13, 20 and 27)
Each Wednesday during the Festival there will be a casual wine education evening with local winegrowers at Roths Wine Bar. Guests will be welcomed by Mudgee’s marquee winemakers to discuss, dissect and discover their wines. Each Wednesday evening will feature a new theme.
