THE Mudgee Small Farm Field Days celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
“The event has long been renowned as the premier field days in the Central West,” Australian Rural Education Centre general manager and field days organiser Cassandra Stanford said.
The vision of innovation and sustainability has evolved over 40 years and is now as relevant as ever.
“We’ve got new talks to add to the horticulture tent, including worm farming, olives and dry tolerant gardening, as well as more nurseries to purchase something to take home,” Cassandra said.
There are more demonstrations in the livestock area, lots of sheep and cattle breeds, multiple milking demonstrations, talks from the Local Land Services, equine demonstrations with industry professionals, equine dentistry, and even a trick pony.
