
Rylstone resident, Erik Eriksson, has won the National Heart Foundation of Australia’s 2017 Golden Shoe Award. Erik was recognised for his involvement with the Rylstone Heart Foundation Walkers [RHFW]. The RHFW was started by HealthOne five years ago. Erik stated that the group is an “enthusiastic bunch of people.

We all really enjoy doing it and it’s a great way to forge friendships.” Erik was recognised for the award because of his commitment to recruiting new walkers and promoting healthy lifestyles, as well as catering for people with special needs. However, Erik stresses that this award belongs to the whole group and they should all be very proud of their accomplishments in the group. The RHFW have been seen pounding the pavement in Rylstone, Rathdowney, Ferntree Gully, Bylong and recently finished a long walk ending at the Rylstone Biggest Morning tea fundraiser.
