The Dunedoo Swans scored a stirring 30 points to 16 win over the Gulgong Terriers in front of an appreciative crowd at Dunedoo in Round 16 of the Christie and Hood Castlereagh League on Saturday.

Decked out in pink to celebrate the club’s ladies day, the home side won its second local derby victory in as many weeks following a 56-point demolition of Coolah the previous round.
The Swans took a narrow 12 to 10 lead into the sheds at the break, before opening up in the second half with three more tries keeping the visitors at arm’s length.
Tyson Searle scored a double for Dunedoo, with Charlton Darlington, Adam Chapman, Kerrin O’Malley also crossing, while Dan Lane enjoyed a perfect afternoon with the boot.
Brad James, Cal Rumming, Robbie Dowton all scored for the Terriers, with James kicking two from three goals.
The Dunedoo Swannettes also took a big step towards claiming the league tag minor premiership when they defeated Gulgong 42 to nil.
Emma Gallagher picked up a hat-trick, Becc Scibberas a double, with Lauren Sullivan, Sophie Christ, and Lisa Christensen all scoring tries and Kerrie Ward booting two goals in the shutout.
Sitting two points in front of Warren on the competition ladder, and with the bye next week, the Swannettes can mathematically be ousted from the top position on the ladder, but they will have to lose their game to Coonamble in the final round.
And Warren will have to win their two remaining games by big scores in order to first of all draw level on the competition ladder, then secondly better the for and against record of the Swannettes.
The men’s win keeps Dunedoo’s semi final hopes alive, however they’re locked in a race for fourth place with Baradine who are not only two points clear on the ladder they also scored a win over a top side on Saturday.
The Magpies downed the second placed Coonamble Bears and with both sides having byes this weekend the race for fourth is ‘to be continued’.
