Over two days, teams of four compete against other Western NSW councils in tasks testing knowledge of local government and council policies and procedures.

All tasks are tailored to rural and regional councils, addressing realistic scenarios faced in the day-to-day management.

MWRC has two teams, with members from Development, Finance, Communications, Work Health and Safety and Administration departments.

General manager Brad Cam said, “our staff will be tackling real-world problems related to local government, the skills and knowledge they will develop will be immediately applied back to their roles within Council”.

Regional winners compete in a final later this year.
