The group of dedicated women, who fund-raise for the health services, recently held their annual general meeting – attended by Judy Ford, Health Services manager for Mudgee and Gulgong.
She described volunteers as, “wonderfully committed and passionate about wanting to raise money for the hospital”.
“Some of those ladies have been around for a long time, I’ve only been here for four and a half years, and I’ve got to know quite a lot of them,” she said.
“It really means so much to them to raise the money and put money back into their community hospital – they love it.
“They do a great job – with stalls, raffles, and the shop – which is fabulous.”
Items purchased for the Mudgee Hospital through Auxilary fundraising in the 2016/2017 financial year:
- Toys used for social work with children in community health
- Alarm sensor pads
- Spirometer for community health
- Block out blinds in theatre
- Coffee machine for hotel services
- Two trauma beds for ED
Mrs Ford said they just never stop.
“No time is too much for them – they just have this passion to do it,” she said.
“We have a wishlist and we keep the president informed of what we really want. It’s actually hard work keeping the wishlist going – because they keep ticking items off.
“They are just fabulous.”
