Andrew Thomas Davies, aged 40, was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond and disqualified for six months.
At about 9am on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, was driving along the Hill End Road and when he veered off the road at a bend.
His vehicle traveled down an embankment, through a farm fence and went another 100m on grass before eventually coming to rest.
The weather at the time was fine and the road was dry.
When questioned by police Davies’ speech was slurred.
They asked him if he’d been drinking and he replied, “no, but I had two cones yesterday” then added “I had some ice on Monday”.
He was taken to Mudgee Hospital for blood tests which were positive for cannabis and methamphetamine to a level that he would’ve been affected.
Magistrate Margaret McGlynn said the incident was aggravated by the crash and that the reason for the law was to stop people driving under the influence, adding “the police said that you were affected”.
