A spokesman for White Ribbon said, “Sssh! Do we dare talk about family and domestic violence? Yes! Society should shout about the devastating consequences. At least one woman every week in Australia is killed by their partner. Artists from the Mudgee and Rylstone District have created works to inspire discussion about this persistent problem. A silent auction will run throughout the exhibition and the works will remain anonymous.
On opening night, motivational speaker, lecturer and business man Steve Semmens will speak persuasively as the White Ribbon Ambassador. Genevieve Elliott, author of, ‘Screaming in Silence’, will also speak. She is the mother of three resilient children. Together they have endured the horrors and abuse and the roller coaster of the legal system. All profits will be donated to White Ribbon.” SsshOUT ! Exhibition No 47 Gallery, Rylstone.
