Savage Dogs
I would like to ask why so many residents of Mudgee have large, aggressive dogs? Is it necessary in town to own savage beasts?

Our Jack Russell was mauled (and subsequently died the following day) by a Bull Mastiff FROM ITS HOME on Saturday (Oct. 7). This occurred in front of a small child in local streets just a few hundred metres from the CBD.
We have lost our beloved Nano who was 10 years old and a loyal, gentle creature. We will miss him and no doubt flinch the next time a big dog jumps and barks at us as we walk the beautiful streets of Mudgee.

Thank you for your kindness
On Thursday, October 5 whilst returning to Sydney from a trip to visit family in Ballimore, the car my wife and son were travelling in broke down outside of Cullen Bullen.
The car had to be towed back to Mudgee. The assistance given to my wife and son from the local NRMA agent, the tow truck operator and the local car repairer was nothing short of outstanding.
But special mention must be made of the gentleman who overheard my wife explaining her situation to the lady in the restaurant and paid for the meal my wife and son had. When my wife spoke to the gentleman to thank him he said their day had been bad enough and if he could brighten it up he was happy to do so. Sir, your random act of kindness is very much appreciated, thank you. You have restored our faith in people.
