The Wisteria Hall at Blue Wren winery was packed with players entering from the local and surrounding regions, as well as from further afield.
Games played at a congress level are for Red Masterpoints, above the green earned at a local level, with only super congress gold points worth more, which are tallied for a player’s overall ‘Masterpoints’.
Saturday (November 4) saw the Swiss Pairs event, with Orange duo Sally Keenan and Diana Waddell taking out the Novice category and Wellington’s David Lander and Helene Lander the Open winners.
Sunday was the Team event, with Mudgee’s Chris Cox and Lorraine Gooley taking out the Novice competition as part of the Cox team with Janet Bishop and Robin Simson of Quirindi.
While the Open event was won by the Reed team, of Wellington’s Peter Reed, and Michele Kerin, Anne Hazelton, and Neville Nott of Dubbo.
