Batting first the Hurricanes’ batsmen struggled to get comfortable at the crease, losing their first seven wickets by the time 53 was on the board.
A late partnership between Robinson (31) and Wood (25) pushed the total out to three figures and onto a target of 107.
Ben Reynolds took 4/12 and along with David Edwards (2/14) removed most of the top order between them, before Callaghan (1/3) and Brakel (2/10) cleaned up the tail.
The Strikers chased down the total inside of 11 overs.
Reynolds again led the way, scoring 76 n.o and blasting four sixes and 10 fours along the way. After Josh Edwards (10) and Matt Croake (11) were both caught getting the innings off to a flying start.
There’s no match this weekend, however the competition returns the following Saturday (November 18) with the Thunder and Super Kings set to play their first match, 6.30pm at Victoria Park.
Then November 25 will see a double-header with back-to-back matches 3.30pm and 6.30pm at Vic Park.
Saturday’s rain caused a washout of Round 4 of Mudgee and District Cricket Association.
