Leanne had just washed the Lego and placed it in a plastic tub outside to dry, when Peter collected it up with the other rubbish and took it to the Mudgee Waste Depot on Thursday, November 23.
“I didn’t recognise the box, I just collected up a heap of stuff and took it all to the tip,” Peter explained.
“The wife called and said ‘where’s my Lego?’, I just freaked out.
“She was devastated, she’d been collecting for around 10 years,” he said.
Peter rushed back to the tip but the box had already been sold.
“The girl at the tip shop knows the lady that brought the box, but she doesn’t know her name,” he said.
Peter is now desperately trying to relocate the box of Lego. “I’ll give her money, I’ll give a reward, shout her out to lunch or something, I just need to get the Lego back,” he said. If you can help locate the Lego please contact the Mudgee Guardian on 6372 1455.
