100th Birthday

Grace Dixon from the Residential Aged Care Facility at the Gulgong MPS recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Celebrating this great milestone, with a morning tea, were the staff of the MPS, family and friends.

To the delight of Grace the Gulgong Community singers came and entertained with some of her favourite songs. All Hallows Catholic School paid a surprise visit along with Legacy members who presented Grace with a beautiful iced cake and a bouquet of flowers.
A special thank you service was conducted by MPS staff member Gwen Bailey and Grace’s son Ray and daughter-in-law Kathy thanked everyone for coming, especially some family members, who had travelled a great distance to be part of this special day.

Gulgong MADS
Gulgong MADS are prepared for their opening night of The Angina Monologues written by English Playwright Peter Barrett. The hilarious series of monologues will be played by Scott Etherington, Kal Newcomb, Ann Doran an Kathryn Maloney. The audience is in for a night of laughter.
During interval the audience will be treated to a Gourmet Grazing Table with wines sponsored by Robert Stein. There will only be two performances Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2. Tickets $30 can be purchased online from gulgongmads.com.au or can be purchased at the Gulgong Post office. A limited number of tickets will be for sale at the door.
School formal
One hundred and fifty students, family and friends attended this year’s High School Formal at the RSL Club. The highlight of the evening was an enlightening speech by Matthew Stanley who spoke about the “never give up attitude” of Cliff Young and he hoped the students would find motivation from this inspirational man. Congratulations to all the students and good luck for the future.
Christmas Party
The Annual Christmas party for the town will be held Saturday, December 9 from 5 – 8pm. This annual event sponsored by Mid-West Regional Council and IGA Supermarket and supported by the Gulgong Men’s Shed and the Memorial Hall Committee will have all the usual events such as the Chocolate Wheel with prizes including hams and IGA Vouchers, Pony Rides, free BBQ for the town, Swoop Petting Zoo, Water Slides, Face Painting and of course a visit by the old man himself Santa Claus.
