Member for Dubbo Troy Grant announced the winner of his annually run competition on Thursday.
The lucky winner: Mudgee Public School year 6 student Brandy Simpson.
Brandy created a card which featured candy canes, Christmas bows, angels and santa.
The theme of the competition, which was open all Primary School students in the Mid-Western Regional, Dubbo Regional and Narromine Shire areas, was 12 days of Christmas.
This is the second year in a row that the Mudgee school has won the competition. In 2016, Mudgee Public School Kindergarten student Maggie Blackman was the overall winner.
Mr Grant said this year he received the most ever Christmas card competition entries and was the toughest year yet to pick a winner.
“The entries received this year were first class which made my decision to pick a winner a tough but enjoyable task,” Mr Grant said.
“Narromine took out 2nd with William Edwards from Narromine Public School getting 2nd place and Huckleberry Jurd from St Augustine’s taking out 3rd.”
The winning entry will receive a $200 voucher to the store of the students choice, 2nd place will receive a $100 voucher with a $50 voucher for 3rd place.
“I would like to thank each and every student who sent in an entry, their work was outstanding, I am already looking forward to next year’s competition” said Mr Grant.
Brandy’s winning design will now take pride of place on the front of Mr Grant’s official Christmas card which will be sent to hundreds of people and organisations across NSW.
