Pennant Trial
On Sunday (February 11), the Gulgong Bowling Club hosted teams from West Dubbo in an early pennant season trial.
The match featured a mixture of grades ranging from Grade 3 down to 7, with both clubs able to mix different players around with a view to the upcoming season.
Despite a bit of patchy weather, Gulgong was able to prevail winning five of the seven rinks, with an overall score of 163 – 128.
Despite missing a few senior players chairman of selectors, Chris Ross, was happy with the turn out of Gulgong players and is confident heading into the pennant season.
Dubbo also brought two teams of ladies bowlers for a trial against Gulgong and Mudgee sides.
Due to maintenance on one of the greens, those matches were played at Mudgee Bowling Club, with the Dubbo ladies finishing on top in both matches.
The Gulgong club thanked Mudgee Bowling Club for their assistance on the day.
Zone 4 Representative Fours
