Before round four, pundits might have been ready to stick a fork in Castelreagh’s Western Women's Rugby League competition chances.
Fast forward to round five, and the Mid-Western unit has a much bigger backing behind it after knocking off Woodbridge 18-16.
Considering the lopsidedness of the round three result against Group 10, Castlereagh did well to bounce back and will look to keep its purple patch alive with a Saturday showdown against Group 11 at Coonabarabran.
The side will need to collectively lift in the wake of Tina Gavin’s leg injury that will see the centre missing for the remainder of the season.
The under 18s side is coming off their maiden win and will look to string together back-to-back triumphs as it kick-starts the double header at 4.30. Stephanie Bowling’s contribution will be paramount as the talented fullback backed up for the seniors against Woodbridge and will need to be at her best on Saturday.
