Noel Raymond Thomson, aged 51, of Patrick Road, Dunedoo, was listed to appear on a charge of contravening an apprehended violence order and breaches of bonds for prior intimidation charges. Shortly after 1pm he became verbally abusive in the registry and was arrested, searched and found to have a knife. He was brought before court that afternoon but a bail hearing had to be deferred to Thursday due to his intoxication and outbursts.
Magistrate David Day said, “he’s come here with a load on board and a knife in his backpack”. Prosecutor Kris O’Brien spoke against granting bail, saying “Mr Thomson’s problems arise from alcohol” and any condition that he abstain would be “impossible” to comply with. The next day he pleaded ‘not guilty’ all charges and was refused bail. The matter returns to court on May 23.
