Police have charged eight people after executing search warrants across the state’s west on Thursday in a joint operation targeting particular offenders.

Operation Fireball comprises of officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District, Western Region Enforcement Squad, and the Western High Risk Domestic Violence team.
The operation was formed in March 2018 to target a range of offences, including the distribution of prohibited drugs, firearm offences, and domestic violence-related offences.
About 7am on Thursday, police executed three search warrants in Mudgee, Wellington and Dubbo.
Six men and two teenagers were arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.
A 27-year-old man was charged with break, enter, and steal. A second 27-year-old man was charged with take and drive conveyance, and police pursuit. Both men were refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Thursday.
A 38-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), contravene apprehended domestic violence order, and resist police. He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Friday.
A 28-year-old man was charged with contravene apprehended domestic violence order, and resist police. He was refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Thursday.
A 41-year-old man was charged with possess prohibited drug (x2), and supply prohibited drug. A 42-year-old man was charged with use carriage service to harass, and stalk/intimidate. Both men were granted conditional bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday May 30, 2018.
A 17-year-old male was charged with breach apprehended domestic violence order, and breach of bail. A 15-year-old male was charged with four outstanding warrants. Both teens were refused bail and appeared at a children’s court on Thursday.
Orana Mid-Western Commander Peter McKenna praised the proactive work by the district and specialist teams.
“We have now conducted 35 search warrants across the district in the last three months,” he said.
“We will continue to work closely with specialist teams and regional enforcement squads as we continue to focus our efforts in the district.
“These arrests will not be the last. Anyone who might be involved in antisocial behaviour are forewarned – we will not tolerate this behaviour in the community.”
