Taking Action: Dr David Watson will present one of the keynote sessions at the Conservation in Action conference will be held on May 15-17 at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.

A partnership between Central Tablelands Local Land Services, Central Tablelands Landcare and Central West Councils Environment and Waterways Alliance, the Conservation in Action: research to reality conference will be held in Bathurst in May.

Keynote speakers include eminent environmental scientist Dr Ian Lowe, Professor of Ecology at the Institute for Land, Water and Society at Charles Sturt University, Dr David Watson; Bathurst ecologist, Dr Anne Kerle and Founder and Executive Creative Director at the Republic of Everyone, an award-winning and world-leading community, sustainability, and all round do-good company, Mr Ben Peacock.

As well as the keynote speakers over 20 scientists, policy makers, program managers and specialists will present sessions providing research findings, case studies, the latest threatened species recovery work and will demonstrate the policies, programs and plans in between that enable environmental practitioners to implement conservation projects.

There will also be a number of practical workshops on various topics, including building tough, functional nestboxes, box gum woodlands and native bee motels as well as social functions and plenty of networking opportunities.

The conference will be held on 15-17 May at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.

There is a range of packages available, so if time is short, you don't need to attend the whole three days.

Registrations are now open and generous sponsorship from a range of organisations has allowed the organisers to keep costs to a minimum.
